Ensign Elisha Eldredge
Parents: William Eldredge and Ann Lumpkin
Born 10 October 1653 Yarmouth, Barnstable, Massachusetts, British Colonial America
Married  Elizabeth Lombard about 1689 Massachusetts, British Colonial America
Died 14 Oct 1739 Eastham, Barnstable, Massachusetts, British Colonial America
Buried 17 October 1739 Duck Creek Cemetery, Wellfleet, Massachusetts
Inscription on stone: Here lies ye body of Mr Elisha Eldredg Decd (deceased) October 14 1739 in ye 87th year of his age
LIFE NOTE:  He supposedly either married or had a common law marriage with a native American woman  from the Nauset Village, Cape Cod, Plymouth Colony. The problem with this idea is that supposedly, Elisha Jr and two others were also born to this union (Deborah and Jesse). There is a TEN year space between Elisha Jr and Deborah and that would eliminate all the children born to Elizabeth and Elisha between Elisha and Deborah. With that said, I have emailed my brother-in-law who is a direct ancestor and has had his DNA tested.  His sister's did show a smidgen of middle-east which would explain why the person added the information about American Indian on Family Search quite handily (of course, that is if you read the Book of Mormon and understand the original Native Americans came from Jerusalem).
