  1. I am a Skidgell descendant. Hendrick Skidgell and Mary Tompkins. He was born in New York and went to New Brunswick after the Revolutionary War. I am trying to find two things, parents of Hendrick and a marriage of his grand daughter. Her fathers name was Obediah Skidgel and her name was Mary Elizabeth Skidgell. She was first married to an Armstrong, they divorced and she then may have married a John Benjamin in Maysfield Maine sometime in 1855. She had one son, Alfred Benjamin, and the she died in 1857 Maysfield Maine. I am searching for proof of this marriage between her and John. Any help on these two, would be most appreciated. I may be reached at jgenness@gmail.com

  2. I am a Hendrick Skidgell and Mary Tompkins descendant. I am hoping you may have answers to two questions. Who were Hendrick Skidgells parents? The other concerns the daughter of his son Obediah Skidgell. Her name was Mary Elizabeth Skidgell. She was first married to an Armstrong, divorced him. Then sometime around 1855 ? she may have married John Benjamin. She had one son with him named Alfred Benjamin. He was born 1855-56 in Maysfield Maine. She then passed in 1857 Maysfield Maine. I would like to know if there is proof of her marriage to John Benjamin. Any help to my questions would be appreciated. I may be contacted by anyone with these answers at jgenness@gmail.com

  5. Hi! It is my belief Mary Abigail Weeks was the second wife for James Brown. They married in 1797 making it impossible for her to be the wife of James Brown's children as they were all adults by 1797. The source of this statement is in this book written on Cpl James Brown of the Queens Rangers who moved to New Brunswick Canada. The book can be found on familysearch.org . Note you need a membership for free to the site to view it. I am descended from the son James Brown as mentioned in the book and sister to Elizabeth Betsy Brown.

  6. Looking for information on Elizabeth "Betty" Brown's parentage. She apparently had a brother named James Brown (after their father). I am trying to prove that James Jr is the same James Brown who would marry Susannah Burden. (Daughter of Thomas Burden the Loyalist who came to NB in 1783). James and Susannah can be found on Deer Island NB 1813-1832 time frame and then across the water to Campobello Island NB where descendants are still found. Please contact me at hwaddingham@yahoo.com if you can help. Thanks. Heather
