 OBITUARY
WASHINGTON TERRACE – Dena O. Price, 84, died Monday, December 14, 2009, at Crestwood Care Center in Ogden.

Mom was born January 25, 1925, in Ogden, to Jacob and Della Walters Opheikens.  She married Jack G. Price on December 13, 1942, in Pocatello, ID. Dad passed away on October 12, 2004, just two months before their 62nd wedding anniversary. They lived in Ogden later moving to Washington Terrace, where they lived for over 52 years.

Mom was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Mom loved animals, especially horses, and started a lifetime collection of horses that began as a young girl. Mom's other hobbies included reading, quilting, camping, yard sales, and baking cakes for every occasion. Mom loved taking care of others, especially her grandchildren. Mom and Dad had grandchildren over nearly every day and always had a grandchild or great-grandchild with them wherever they went. Mom and Dad took care of everyone and were always there without being asked. They cared for both grandma and grandpa for many years throughout their illnesses and until their passing.

Survivors include daughters, Diana Price, Ogden; Annette Ansley, Roy; Judy Schatz, West Haven; and son, Jack R. Price, Washington Terrace. Her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Jayne Maynard and Violet Opheikens, and nieces and nephews also survive her.

Her husband, Jack, daughters, Sharon Price and Della Huddle, one grandson, one great-grandson, her parents, four brothers, and two sisters preceded Mom in death.

We wish to thank friends and neighbors, and we also thank the caregivers who helped us with our mother during her illnesses. Mom had a keen sense of humor and was strong, stubborn, and feisty, which helped her to cope with the losses of Dad, Sharon, and Della, and to fight the many medical battles in her later years. We know that she is now free from the pain and with her loved ones again.
We love you Mom and will miss you until the day that we are all together again.  Private services were held under the direction of Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary

Transcription: Thomas filius (son of) Geo (George) and Eliz. Taylor Bap. May 9
Note: there was a note in Family Search that the Lullington parish records were incorrectly extracted as Melbourne's, which came into play more with his children's records.

Occupation: "Yooman" on marriage license to Mary Cox (this means he was a Farmer)

Married 1) Mary Henworth 30 March 1725 Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire, England
Children: Mary (there are also an Elizabeth and Ann listed on Family Search)

Thomas and Mary Henworth.  I debated whether or not to include this marriage, but know he was a widower when he married Mary Cox, who is the mother of most of his children.  The place it claims he is from should read Snarestone, which is about 7 and a half miles from Lullington, so it is definitely within the realms of probability. He has ten years or less with his first wife before he marries for a second time.

2) Mary Cox 28 Nov 1735 Lichford, Stafford, England

Note attached to the front of the official paper recording Thomas and Mary Cox's marriage.

Transcription: Lichfield, 28th November 1735
Which day appeared personally Thomas Taylor of the parish of Lullington in the county
of Derby, Widower, and prayed a license to be granted to him for the solemnization of a marriage with Mary Cox of Staunton in the parish of Clifton Campville, in the county of Stafford,, spinster, age 24 years, in the parish Clifton Campville aforesaid.
The said Thomas Taylor was duly sworn and the license was ... by us.
