Ebenezer Tiffany and Elizabeth (unknown surname)

It is a terrible truth that this family owned slaves.  Here the names of the slaves that were listed in the book about the history of Barrington who took on the surname Tiffany: Jack, Duchess, Scipio, Daniel, Jemima, Prince, Lucy, Dinah.

On a lighter note, in 1783, the Quakers petitioned for the abolition of slavery in Rhode Island.  In 1784, the act was passed which forever abolished human slavery in their state.

Ebenezer Tiffany
Born 1663 Bristol, Massachusetts
Married Elizabeth (unknown surname)
Died 10 Feb 1747 Barrington, Rhode Island
Buried Likely Princes Hill Burial Ground - since that is where William was buried more than 20 years earlier
