Ebenezer Tiffany and Elizabeth (unknown surname)

It is a terrible truth that this family owned slaves.  Here are the names of the slaves that were listed in the book about the history of Barrington who took on the surname Tiffany: Jack, Duchess, Scipio, Daniel, Jemima, Prince, Lucy, Dinah.

On a lighter note, in 1783, the Quakers petitioned for the abolition of slavery in Rhode Island.  In 1784, the act was passed which forever abolished human slavery in their state.

Inscription on her headstone
Death:  New England Historical and Genealogical Register, 1916, Vol 70, page 241 which was a list of inscriptions for the Warrenville Cemetery.  I'm guessing the Warrenville Cemetery later became the Snow Cemetery.
