The West Bountiful Ward Relief Society was in charge of the flowers and prepared a lovely meal for the family and friends at the home of his son, Eli R. Mitchell.

Frank Hunter Mitchell was born on 26 Sep 1890, in West Bountiful (Woods Cross), Utah, son of Edward Hunter Mitchell and Mary Emery Mitchell.

He married Lurena Taylor 29 Oct 1913 in the Salt Lake Temple. She preceded him in death 19 April 1962.

He is survived by six children: Charles Frank (Ethelene); Edna Murray, Arline (Jake) Opheikens, Alfred T. (Ruth), Eli R (Dixie), Mary Etta (Karl) Josephson.

Frank Hunter Mitchell was a true Son of Utah Pioneers. His grandfather, Benjamin T. Mitchell, arrived in the valley in 1848, and his father, Edward H. Mitchell, was one of the original settlers of West Bountiful.

The family home on 8th West is still in use. Frank and his father were stone masons and carpenters on the original West Bountiful Ward. He lived his entire life in this area. He made a living farming and later worked at Wasatch Oil and retired from Phillips petroleum in Woods Cross.

After retirement, he remained active, helping his son Eli with his horse breeding program and remodeling the old James Hepworth home on 11th West.

He also bred and sold exotic pheasants and chickens. He was an avid fisherman and bird hunter until ill health forbade it, after which he kept active by raising flowers. He provided them weekly to South Davis Hospital, as well as delivering them to the Bountiful Cemetery for the Taylor and Mitchell gravesites.

He was a favorite with the children in the neighborhood as there was always a stash of goodies at Grampas. His clever Halloween bagged treats will be sorely missed by the young ones.

Known Marriages
Edna and Kenneth Mayfield, her first husband
1) Kenneth Owen Mayfield 29 Jul 1930 Farmington, Davis, Utah (Annulled or Divorced, they were married for two weeks or so, and she was only 15)

Edna in Woods Cross, holding Jody - 1935 - date based on Jody's birth year
and the fact they had returned to Woods Cross by 1940

2) Kelly Adkins 10 August 1933 Ogden, Weber, Utah (Divorced)
Children:  Jo Ora (Jody)

Edna and Kelly Adkins's marriage license

3) Easton McGhie  20 March 1938 Kaysville, Davis, Utah, United States (Divorced)

Edna and Easton McGhie marriage
Note: witnesses were her parents, Frank and Lurena

Note: Edna shows as divorced in the 1940 Census, living with her parents, but under the name Edna Adkins, not McGhie.

4) Delbert Richard Beaman 20 Jan 1941 Tooele, Tooele, Utah (Divorced)

Edna and Delbert's marriage record
Note:  her surname in the record is Mitchell

5)
Paul Damon Smith
Paul Damon Smith 25 September 1943 Coeur d'Alene, Kootenai, Idaho (Divorced)

Children:  Karen

Edna and Paul's marriage certificate

6)  Thomas French Murray 29 August 1954 (Divorced before 1971)
Note: She is listed as Edna Murray in her father's 1971 obituary. According to her sister, Mary Etta's obituary, she was living in Texas in 1982.

Michael R Marvian

7) Michael Ralph Marvian 31 August 1958 Weston, Wyoming
Note:  Edna is listed as Edna Marvian in her mother's obituary in 1962. On her funeral program, Andrew Marvian is listed as one of her grandsons. Edna supposedly gave birth to a son - William (known as Billy) and left him with his dad, Michael, to raise. However, the only boy I found is William Michael Marvian (deceased) and he was born in 1940 - so that puts him outside the 1958 line by 18 years. Anyone out there know the truth?

Died: 11 May 1999 Gulfport, Mississippi

Edna's obituary
People might wonder why Paul, her 5th husband was listed on here instead of her final husband Michael Ralph Marvian.  I can't say for sure, but I think common sense rules here. Paul was Karen's father and Karen is the one that wrote the obituary. She had been living with her mom in Gulfport.

Buried:  She was cremated and some of her ashes were spread in the mountains near her daughter (Jo Ora's) home, and some were buried with her mother, Lurena, in Bountiful, Utah Cemetery. I don't know if Karen kept any.
