Robert Telford

Parents:  John Telford and Jane Telford (they were cousins)
Born 8 Jan 1826 Barrhead, Renfrew, Scotland
Note: Barrhead is listed as Bear Head in the ward records, but in the World Atlas it's Barrhead

From Family Search: Robert was primarily a farmer, yet a great deal of his time was spent hauling coal largely for a factory. Robert also owned considerable livestock. During the summer he drove the unneeded horses and cattle to summer pasture in the mountains and would return them in the fall to the valley. In November 1872, he wrote (in his diary), "I sold my yellow mare to John Wood for $125. Also, I took a load of potatoes to town and sold my young mare for $70."

Married: 1) Rebecca Stoddard 22 Feb 1852 North Kenyon Ward, Bountiful, Davis, Utah

Robert, Charles, and John Telford's marriages announced in Deseret News
all taking place at the same time and married by the same person: Bishop John Stoker.
A.L. Hetzel on Family Search reported that, "His first wife, Rebecca, left the relationship and remarried (William S. Lee) in May 1874. She had been unable to bear children, which likely prompted him to take a second wife.

2) Maria Spooner 18 Jun 1864, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah
Emigrated to Utah:  17 May 1851-25 Sep 1851 Mormon Pioneer Overland Travel
