This is a Family History blog. Lately, it was unblocked by Bitdefender which thought it was a 'dangerous site.' I requested and received a review and they deemed this blog as NOT dangerous. I invest a lot of time in gathering this information. Please give credit and list this blog as a source. Note that there are links that are no longer viable but I did use them as sources, so they are left in place, hopefully with a note letting you know that they are no longer working.

Married James Reed 29 November 1840 Whaddon, Cambridgeshire, England
Children: Joseph, Daniel, David, Mary, Ann, Unnamed girl
From Family Search (shared by Jayna L.C. Haws, and modified here by me)
Ann Reed was the fifth child and second daughter in a family of six children— Tragedy struck the Reed home when Ann was two-years-old.
She slipped into a deep ditch that ran near their home. No one else was around but her mother, Sarah. Though heavy with child, she jumped into the ditch to save Ann from drowning.
Ann was saved, but trouble started for her mother. Her child, a girl, was born July 13, 1854 and died the same day. Complications developed and Sarah died three days later, July 16, 1854.
Buried with her newborn baby girl: 16 July 1854 Whaddon, Cambridge, England
| Sarah's burial record |
Note: One must remember the baby had been born and died the same day, so she remained unburied for three days. They needed to bury the dead quickly in July (no refrigeration), so it was about common sense, not insensitivity about how quickly Sarah was buried.

On November 1, 2007, KTVX, a Salt Lake City television station, announced that a number of his diaries and letters related to his position had surfaced. John V Long was a confidant and scribe of Mormon leader Brigham Young, but fell from grace, was excommunicated from the LDS Church, and finally found dead in a drainage ditch in 1869. He was buried with his first wife in the SL Cemetery.
