Thora Harris Munn Moore, 87, Nyssa, beloved mother and grandmother, died 4 July 2001 of natural causes.Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Nyssa Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bishop Cecil Blair conducting.  Burial will follow in the Nyssa Cemetery under the direction of Lienkaemper Chapel, Nyssa.

Thora was born April 17, 1914, in Hooper, Utah, the daughter of Robert and
Verna Munn, and she was raised and educated in Hooper.  Thora met Samuel Moore at a community dance and February 8, 1934, they were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  
The Moores farmed in Utah for several years and moved to Nyssa in 1956.  For three years they lived and worked in Ontario, finally settling in Nyssa and working on their daughter's farm.

Thora was an active member of the LDS church and served in many teaching and leadership capacities until ill health made it impossible for her to continue.  Her favorite hobbies were fishing and family history.  Thora spent many hours searching out and writing histories for her deceased loved ones.
Thora is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Gerald and Sally Moore of Fruitland, and Jack and Pam Moore of Idaho Falls; a daughter and son-in-law, C.R. and Colleen Kesler, of Nyssa, 15 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Florence Taylor and Velma Fisher of Ogden, Utah.  Thora is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and a sister.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 pm today at Lienkaemper Chapel, 207 Ehrgood Ave., Nyssa, and from 9:30 a.m. - 10:15 a.m.Monday prior to the services at the Nyssa LDS Stake Center.
Thora will always be remembered for her good sense of humor and her love for her family.

Oral H. Munn, 39, 3882 Grandview, died Monday in the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City. Mr. Munn was born May 24, 1921, in Hooper, a son of Robert I. and Verna Harris Munn. He lived in Hooper until 1946 and later in Oregon and Montana. He moved to Salt Lake City six years ago. On June 10, 1939, he married Jessie Browning in Riverdale. He had been an ironworker from the American Bridge Co. and was a member of the Iron Workers Union. He was a member of the LDS Church. During World War II, he served in the Navy. Surviving are his widow, four sons, Wayne, M. Munn, with the Army at Ellsworth Air Force Base, Rapid City, S. D.; Lynn R. Munn, Rick 0. Munn, Shane Munn, all of Ogden; two daughters. Mrs. Bryan (Jacqueline Joy) Bickmore, Salt Lake City; Miss Sandra Sue Munn, Ogden; two brothers, Othella Munn, Roy; Lorin Munn, Nyssa, Ore., four sisters, Mrs. Harry (Leoan Burningham, Hooper; Mrs. Clark (Florence) Taylor, South - Ogden; Mrs.Sam (Thora) Moore. HOOPER — Oral H. Munn, recently of Hooper, is still in very critical condition in a Salt Lake City hospital after being struck in the head last week by a 1,000-pound steel beam, crushing his skull. The Munn family lost their eldest son in an automobile accident last summer in Washington. Mr. Munn and his family moved to Salt Lake City just three weeks ago. He has not regained consciousness since the mishap.
Article in the paper about Oral's DUI: 9 Dec 1946 (Ogden Standard-Examiner) Two motorists drew stiff penalties in city court today on their pleas of guilty. Oral Munn, 25, Hooper, charged with drunken driving and hit-run driving, was sentenced by Judge J. Quill Nebeker to pay a total fine of $350 or serve 175 days in jail. Traffic Sergeant T. Clark Olsen said Munn December 7 drove his car into one operated by Olaf Lassen at twenty-second and Monroe, continued on without stopping and smashed into two other vehicles at Jackson and twenty-second, No injuries were reported.  
Update in Ogden Standard-Examiner about Oral's accident: 20 Jan 1955 page 7 Oral H. Munn, Hooper, still in very serious condition in a Salt Lake City hospital following an accident 10 weeks ago in which a 1000-pound steel beam struck him on the head while he was working with a construction crew. Mr. Munn has still not regained consciousness from the blow.

Russel and Helen Taylor headstone
Russel A. Taylor Sr. left his earth to continue his mission on Sunday, June 9th 2002.  He died at home, of cancer.  

He was born June 19th 1916 in Plain City, UT, a son of Charles and Lillias Grieve Taylor.  He grew up in Plain City and was in the first class to graduate from the old Weber High.  He married Helen Campbell on Dec. 4th, 1941 in the Salt Lake Temple.  They had 49 wonderful years together.  She preceded him in death March of 1991.  

He married Colleen Lyman on Nov 28th 1992 in the St. George Temple.  He and Colleen served two missions and were on their third in Oklahoma City, when Dad became ill.  He served in the CCC in Zions National Park.  He was a veteran of WWII.  He was a partner of Gateway Glass and Paint until 1957.  He then started his own manufacturer's rep agency.

He was active in the Kiwanas Club and the Utah and Intermountain Quarter Horse Assoc.  Dad was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He served faithfully in many positions.  He had a strong and valiant testimony of Christ and of the plan of salvation.  He lived his religion all of his life.  He loved giving service, spending time with family, and riding his horses.

He is survived by his wife Colleen, three daughters and two sons:  Judy (Paul) Wilcox, CA, Marsha (Nolan) Hess, FL, Colleen (Dave) Evans, CO., Russel Jr., (Chris) UT, and Richard (Jennifer) UT, fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by one sister, Ann Mumford of St. George.  A viewing will be held Wednesday, June 12th from 6 to 8 pm in St. George at the Metcalf Mortuary:  288 West St. George Blvd.  Funeral services will be held at the North Ogden 14th ward chapel, 1150 East 2600 North, North Ogden, on Saturday, June 15th at 11:00. 

Family and friends may call at Lindquists in Ogden at 3408 Washington Blvd on Friday, June 14th from 6 to 8 pm and at the church on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.  Interment Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden.  Dad requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Perpetual Education Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Dad, we love you and will miss you.  God be with you until we meet again.

Obituary:
Ann Taylor Mumford died on Monday, July 16, 2012, at her home in Provo, Utah.  She was born February 27, 1925, in Plain City, Utah to Lillias Grieve and Charles Taylor. 

On November 15, 1946, Ann married John Mumford in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  Together, they enjoyed an active life of hiking, bowling, picnicking, snowmobiling, square dancing, golf, bridge, and travel. 

Ann graduated from Weber High School, Weber State University, and the University of Utah, obtaining a Master of Science degree from the College of Nursing.  She retired as Coordinator of the Weber State University/Utah State University Cooperative Nursing Program at Utah State University in Logan.

Ann Eleanor Mumford
After retiring and moving to St. George, Ann served as a volunteer at the St. George Chamber of Commerce and the Huntsman World Senior Olympics.  She was a member and officer of the American Association of University of Women, the League of Women Voters, and worked as a proofreader for the St. George magazine.  She also taught classes for the Institute of Continued Learning, a program for senior citizens at Dixie State College.

Ann is survived by her husband of 65 years, John; daughters, Suzanne (Kent) Callister, Payson, UT; Debby Rhea, Jackson, Wy; Rebecca (Dennis) Ours, Carlsbad, CA; ten grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, and brothers, Hannah Taylor, Thelma Story, Arvilla Warren, Howard Taylor, Clark Taylor, Russel Taylor, and Hugh Taylor.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 21st at 1pm at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  The family will meet with friends on Saturday from 11:45-12:45 pm at the mortuary. Cremation entrusted to Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Families of SMA, 925 Busse Road, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007. www.fsma.org , or the American Cancer Society.
