Born 1778 North Carolina
Occupation: Lawyer and Farmer
Married Amy abt 1800 Edgecomb County, North Carolina
Note:  They "divorced" when he gave her the right for him to never set eyes on her again. He gave her the house and half of the barn and barnyard and gave the rest to his son in return for his son keeping him in his old age.  The following document supports this claim.

Note: the European Union took a lot of pictures from this blog and this, unfortunately, is one of them. I will continue to search for the original (2021) In the meantime, here is a printed article that will confirm their all most divorce

William Allen Taylor (called Allen)
Born 24 Dec 1832 Richardsville, Warren, Kentucky
Military:  Civil War Kentucky 6th Cavalry St-V (age 18)
Occupation:  (1880) Carpenter
Married Nancy Basham 18 Oct 1853 Kentucky
Note:  I never found proof of marriage, other than the unsourced date on Family Search.  Can anyone shed any light on this?  I'm wondering if her last name was Mulkey and not Basham?
Children: Ida, William, Fannie, Edwin, George, James, Manuel, Sallie, Lena
Note:  these children were gathered from the two censuses and the earlier (1870) doesn't overlap any children on the second.  Edwin would only have been 13 - perhaps he died?
